Came for the ALS Step up to the plate event and found a place we will come back to. So many choices and everything was delicious. We sat outside rather than inside. Drink specials every day and large portions. We had the fish tacos, short rib melt, loaded nachos and the Buffalo chicken sandwich. We started out with the frito tots which were really tasty. We will come back.

My experience here was enjoyable, overall. The classic hot sauce was perfect, the crinkle cut fries gave Chickie's & Pete's a run for their money, and the waitress we had was attentive. The parking lot is big and so is the restaurant. Totally decent for a quick meal or to hang out and watch a game on one of the big screens. The hostess who was dressed like a bag lady and absolutely reeked of patchouli oil really was the only downside. Normally I would just say "to each their own," but this is a restaurant - I don't want to smell you more than I can smell the food. I am really surprised that the management lets her wear what she was wearing this weekend. She didn't look put together at all and my sister and I couldn't get over the fact that they hired this girl to be the face of the restaurant. What you do outside your job is your own business, but I would never let an employee present herself the way this girl did this past weekend. Again, I don't care what you do outside of your job, but she absolutely does not belong in a restaurant as the greeter.

Buffalo nuggets with fries plus cheeseburger. Wine and the PJs copper lager...yum. Only suggestion - paper in the basket for nuggets; have it thicker or other type of paper. Cuts and shreds with the knife + gets on food. Otherwise, all is fabulous. Great atmosphere too...even at lunch.

Decent but nothing to get excited about. Nachos were best part of meal. Wings were small and cheesesteak hoagie was plain and blan. Entirely too noisy !

We came here Saturday night during the NCAA tournament. Most likely after the main crowd had left. The atmosphere is exactly that of what you would hope for in a sports bar environment. If you have trouble seeing a TV in this place then you surely are blind. The menu was extensive and large in a good way. I enjoyed the french onion soup to start and the buffalo chicken sandwich. Everyone else in my party of 5 seemed to enjoy their food as well. Unfortunately I have to rate this place a 3 due to the service. I come from the service industry and tend to always side with the server. However this was not that type of experience. The service was in no way terrible when she was there. The problem was she wasn't there aside from taking orders and dropping off the check. We sat for 25 minutes with empty water glasses. Servers buzzed around us finishing their side work. But hey, everyone must have wanted to go home....

Despite a three star rating, this place is still one of my go-to spots. The hot & honey wings are awesome, good beer list, and the chocolate brownie is great but everything else can be hit or miss. This includes just about everything else on the menu and the service. Most of the other stuff on the menu is par to below average. Some waitresses are great and some not so great. But if you're in the mood for wings, this is the best option out there. They have tons of TVs so it's a great place for sports. Also, Tuesday's are half priced wing days so expect a crowd.
(3)Matthew A.
First things first, the wings here are amazing! The wings are covered in a crispy batter that gives them a nice crunch before biting into the delicious chicken. The sauce selection is not huge but it some ways that's a good thing. That way there isn't an overwhelming selection of sauces. I prefer to get the buffalo nuggets which are basically boneless wings and are less messy. The rest of the menu is pretty solid as well, great burgers and appetizers (cheesesteak nachos!). The only issue here is that the service can be slow at times, however pjs is still a great joint to check out. The atmosphere can be noisy at night, but it's expected since it's a sports bar. Plus there are tons of TVs for watching the game!

Above average bar fare food. Not sure why it only has 3 stars. Been here many times. Service has always been great, even when packed. Loaded tots are awesome. Wings are great. My only complaint it that it is often crowded- a sign of a 4 or 5 star place.
(4)Ed M.
Poor training of staff all around. Promote speciality drinks but server had no idea what was in them, just kept saying they were her favorite-duh? Another server does not know that bar trays are used for serving drinks so all down the front of her shirt the drinks went, while the manager just shook her head. Floor was soaked and no-one wiped up all the mess- law suit just waiting...... Would not recommend the food either, just poor all around.

All hail P.J.'s , well at least for this location anyway . I have been to several Whelihan's before all were good to great experiences. What are these guys known for, sports, wings, pretty descent burgers and the eye candy that is in here. From what I understand a majority of these waitresses are former employees at the Hooters located on RT1. Now if that doesn't make a great combination I don't know what will. Sports , with fine crafts and the ladies, yea you pretty much won right there even if your team got dismantled. ( Sorry ladies, not trying to sound piggish ) We were enjoying a few libations at the bar and couldn't help but salivate over the fine craft selections these guys have. For the aficionado in you this is a great spot to grab a few pints of the good stuff mixed with an order of appetizers. While waiting with some of my closest friends we decided to do some appetizers. We chose a great dish of Buffalo Chicken cheese dip, with pieces of pita bread cut up surrounding this hot dish of deliciousness. Simply delicious I must say, nice flavors kicking out, then those gorgeous wings came out. An order sweet chili and a Chipolte Lime BBQ. AMAZING !! I say, in a nice meaty sized wing for the winger in you. Our bartenders were Christy, and Kristin and these two lovely ladies were on the ball the whole time. Never missing a step, always making sure we had cold fresh pints ready to go. Never the same glass mind you, a new frosty mug every time, who is going to argue with that. Another reason why P.J. is good is their nice sized bar with ample seating aligning the the area ,with plenty of TVs for your viewing pleasures. Good ample seating inside, clean with a great wait staff . At least the day I went, my neck was going left and right which was a better view than the Flyers game that day. A great spot for the beer aficionado in you ,with plenty of fine crafts waiting for you to peruse. Great spot to catch a game , or for happy hour. It doesn't matter when you go actually, you'll have a good time.

Great bar food selection and amazing wide range beer selection. They have a very large amount of craft beers and very friendly staff. Food is nothing fancy but all tasty and easy to eat. Offer good lent options

After a year, I finally hit this pub near my new house. Food was decent, beer fresh, and prices okay (could be better but I am okay with that and I will tell you why). But what made it for me was the staff. Very helpful and except for not soliciting an order earlier, very attentive. They even went so far as to pull up an obscure Premier League match for me on one of the screens, which I appreciated. I will be back.

Wing's fair! Better and cheaper at Hooters and Timothys. Foul language during sports events-not good for family's. Ordered cake with candle for daughters birthday; they forgot!!!

P.j is a great place the food is great. But the service I had the other night was horrible and it was not busy. There was three of us. We order apps and food. We had three napkins!! And never got a new drink. I tried going to the bar which was understaffed. And never got one. All the waitress looked miserable. They also ran out of most there seasonal beers!!

This is the 3rd PJ Whelihan's that I have been to. The one in Blue Bell and the one in Cherry Hill hold a special place in my heart for all the post-highschool reunion/college pig outs in the past couple years. That being said, I feel fortunate to live closest to this one, because this one, as of right now, is by far my favorite. My sister, my friend and I came on a Tuesday to take advantage of the half off wings. The waitress was friendly, and much like other PJ's, extremely casual. Before taking our drink orders, she rushed by, apologizing and saying that she'll be right with us after she takes care of the huge table next to us who had all asked for split checks. We didn't have to wait too long - surprisingly this place was pretty empty compared to the other PJ's at the same time, despite being a LOT smaller than the others. In Bluebell, I would have had to wait around 30-45 minutes to get a table. Same with the one in Cherry Hill. Here, we walked in and got seated immediately. Maybe it was because of the polar vortex? Whatever, thumbs up from me. We ordered drinks - the anniversary beer by PJW (only $3!) was great, and the pineapple vodka I ordered was strong and not overly sweet. For food, we had 20 sweet chili and 20 hot n honey. There was a tiny mix up when we got our food - the waitress (who was not our 'main' waitress?) placed the food on our table, saying it was 2 sweet chili, 1 hot n honey, and 1 mild. We corrected her, and then shortly after, another waiter came by and tried to give us another sweet chili. He then said that the last one the waitress tried to give us was hot n honey. ???? It's all okay though, they ended up getting the order right (third time's the charm?), and we didn't care because we were already getting messy with the massive amount of wings that did come out properly. The wings themselves - oh. hot. glory! The other PJ's don't compare. These wings (and drumsticks) were bigger, fuller, and drenched in more sauce than I have ever seen. I'm assuming that this is what wings should be like at the other places when they are not half off. The other PJ's seem to be drier - possibly because they reuse the sauce many times for all the different batches of wings (or they are more stingy with it during 1/2 off wing night). I'm never going back to the other PJ's. That being said, after reading other reviews, I was disappointed to learn that management seems to be atrocious. I would hope that this PJ's gets it together, because all other aspects to me, seem awesome enough that this place will be one of my regular Tuesday night spots. I only hope that this place doesn't become too popular, because I want it all to myself.
(4)Alex S.
PJ's Whelihans is one of the best spots for wings around. Crispy, great size, delicious sauces, and half priced on Tuesdays. Combine with Famous Fries and a cold beer and your night's made. Besides the extensive menu and fantastic beer selection, PJ's also offers fantastic sports viewing and an outdoor patio that's hard to beat in the warmer months.
(5)Angela K.
Great spot for groups and/or kids! The wings are awesome and the burgers are delicious. Prices are extremely reasonable and happy hour specials are awesome.
(5)John B.
Food is always on par, the bar staff is always friendly and helpful. Some of the waiters/waitresses can have a slight attitude to customers at times, but I can forgive them as every one can have a crappy day. PJs is always a great time to go with friends or family. We always will end up there even just for a drink because we enjoy it. The beer list is great! We always try whats new. Thanks PJs Keep it up!
(4)Donna G.
I think the servers are very nice. The place is a great sports bar with lots of TV's. I am not fond of the food. My husband got the chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. It was small but good. I got an overlooked order of fish tacos.. The slaw on it was a very small serving., the fish was overlooked and not tasty. The beer choices are great and the white wine was a very watery wine at a nicer bottle price. I must be getting a better pallet!

Great Neighborhood bar/restaurant. This place is always a good experience. I have gone with friends, just my wife, and my whole family and each time the experience fit the occasion. The selection of beer is outstanding and I enjoy the knowledge the staff has of the different selections. The amount of televisions is excellent at all times except when out with just the wife, cause I can get distracted and miss "important" conversational points. The food is always good. I have tried many things and have developed a few favorites. I highly recommend the wings, I often get Honey BBQ but you can't go wrong with a sauce selection. The Cheesesteak nacho's have ruined many a meal for me due to filling up on this excellent dish before the arrival of my main course. I did have the first dish I would not recommend this week and it was the Seared Ahi Tuna Steak. I ordered Med. Rare and it was cooked perfectly, however the fish lacked any flavor. (not sure why) if it wasn't for the crusting of pepper and coriander there would have been no taste at all. Very disappointing. The Jasmine rice was anything but Jasmine and was by all at the table who tasted for me, just white rice. But while complaining gently to my family about the dish, my forteen year old did point out wisdom beyond her years in stating, "that it is just bar food, why did you order fish". OK she wins, but after all the other great food I had there I had high expectations. One point of concern came after my daughter (14) returned from a trip to the bathroom and relayed how two waitresses had their makeup laid out across the counter getting ready for the shift. The topic of discussion was whether or not they were going to wear the short "booty" shorts that they were "expected" to wear for the shift or go with the more conservative pants option. I hope there is not undue pressure on these young ladies to wear clothing they are not comfortable donning. I recommend this place for all occasions from drinking with the boys to a family evening dinner.

If I could give negative stars I would. Horrible inadequate service behind the bar. Waited over 15 minutes for a beer, had wings thrown at me, and have never encountered such a miserable bartender (Courtney). Will definitely not be back and will not recommend.
(1)John C.
The wings here are very good but not the best. The total package of this restaurant though keeps me and my family coming back. We have 3 kids aged 9, 7 and 5 and they love coming here. You're seated quickly, your drink orders are placed quickly, your drinks arrive quickly, your food order is placed quickly, your food arrives quickly, the food is good, the atmosphere is good, you're not rushed in any way. For sports, this place has more screens on the walls than a NASA mission control room. The atmosphere really is perfect - they did a great separation of the bar area and the family area.
(5)Jessica M.
Beware of the manager Marissa... Food is great...servers are great.....Marissa on the other hand, not so much. She definitely does not put the customer first and is EXTREMELY RUDE!
(3)Matt M.
OK so we don't review chains....exception time. The place has a great vibe, best beer list of any chain I have ever been to and decent bar food. Combine that with good service and good prices and you have a winner. Add on top of this the hundred or so TVs for sports and the like and this place should do very well.

Bunch of us guys went to see the football game, ordered wings that came out too tangy. The waitress was polite, apologized and replaced them but when the bill came, we were charged for 2 orders of wings. Talked to 'General Manager' who was extremely rude and told us that since all guys had taken one, he charged us. We spent more than $150 and it did not matter to him that we were regular customers. It was not a matter of a few $$ but concept of customer service and treating guests right that he did not seem to understand.... Well, thanks PJW, we are officially taking our weekly business somewhere else
(1)Lauren S.
Went there last week after I was disenchanted by the new Buffalo Wild Wings. Our expectations were exceeded! We asked for a booth cause we had been doing manual labor all day and wanted to get comfy, and they were VERY accommodating about it. Waitress was SO nice and attentive, the nachos were great, and the overall service was that perfect blend between attentive but not too invasive. Also- spotless bathrooms.
(4)Bob M.
Skip the Maryland Crab soup. They left out a key ingredient - the crab. So it was like a faint crab broth with 2 carrot slices floating on top. Still liked the Ithaca flower Power though.
(1)Amrita C.
Very friendly service and delicious food!!!! I especially love the microbrew tasting option!
(5)John M.
Waiting for their opening since limited options south of West Chester. Food was uninspiring. Good beer list. Service will spotty. Biggest problem was the noise. With all hard surfaces, the din was unbearable. I was lucky that my server could read lips. I have enjoyed Timothy's and was looking for another option. This is not it. If you are with a bunch of drunken fratboys, this is your place. If you a normal, thinking human being, go elsewhere.

I am not from West Chester, but was in the area for work on Monday evening. This was close to my hotel so I decided to go in for dinner. The hostesses were very nice and I asked if I could just sit at the bar. Once there, it took around 10 minutes for one of the bartenders to notice me and ask if I wanted anything to drink. The restaurant was not busy so there was really no excuse for it to take this long. I began looking at the menu and waited, and waited, and waited, for one of them to come back and ask if I was ready to order. When one of the bartenders walked by, I asked her if I could order food and she gave me blank stare - no response, nothing. I ordered some French Onion soup with the intention of ordering an entrée at a later point. The soup was okay, I've definitely had better. At no point was I checked up on, the bartenders would walk right by me, greet other patrons, check up on them, etc, but I was practically ignored. Finally I was asked if I wanted a second drink, but never actually ordered an entrée as I was annoyed with flagging people down. If you have the choice, go somewhere else where the bartenders aren't so rude.
(2)Cora B.
Best happy hour in the area! The portions are enormous and fattening so make sure to share to order to avoid a heart attack. My favorite there are the chili soy wings. AMAZING! I could eat them all day. But then I'd be dead in 10 years.
(5)KP R.
Loved pjs since their original location in Allentown. they haven't lost quality as they have expanded. in my opinion the hot and honey wings are still the best, ever. wings are big and don't disappoint. I wish ALL locations would have Alice fries (ask Allentown location) instead of these pjs fries which are wayyyyyy too salty. anyway, this place is awesome.
(5)Marcus P.
I go to strictly stare at all the waitress's and the food and drink specials. Big butts everywhere! What else can a man ask for when he is devouring wings and chugging beers? Well actually I do know the question to that, and thats why you come here because the waitresses are all very nice!
(4)Zachary C.
Noisy. Nice selection of craft and microbrews though. Okay pub style food. Mediocre burger and fries. Poor French onion soup.
(3)Leanne B.
Great beer. Terrible food. Really terrible food. My 5 year old cried when her dinner came it was so unappealing. It's like they're not even trying to care about the food...I guess the margins are better on alcohol so who cares? Here's a hint - people who come for your beer list also love good food. They go together. Sadly we won't come back with the whole family for a dinner night out. If management bothers to read these reviews: please dine at Monks in Phillly...if you can get halfway to their taste and quality along side your beer menu - we'll be regulars.
(2)Dan m.
A Great selection of Beers. Food will not knock your socks off, but it is good. Always a lot of action, a bit noisy, but is to be expected.
(4)Katie B.
This was our family's first visit here. We called ahead and were seated within just a few minutes of our arrival on a very busy Friday evening. The noise level was high, but it didn't bother us. Several TVs allowed us to watch a Sixers game and kept our children entertained. The beer selection is fantastic. The food was mediocre and took forever to arrive. From the time we sat down, it was over an hour before we had our entrees. Luckily, our Pretzel Bite appetizer arrived quickly, so we weren't ravenous. The pretzels were nuggets bathed in butter(?) and served with a rather bland cheese sauce. I had the Thai Shrimp Salad, nice, cold greens that would have been crisp if it weren't for the overdose of spicy dressing. The shrimp was nicely seasoned and the salad would have been great had I asked for the dressing on the side. My husband had a burger served with chips, good but nothing special. My children ordered from the Kids' Menu: mac and cheese (from a box), pizza (small for anyone over 6, yet my 10-year-old with a usually bottomless pit decided he wasn't hungry after eating only half), and chicken fingers (fine, but not great). Our server was friendly and did a great job despite the place being packed and too noisy to hear much of anything. If I ever return, it will be only to sit at the bar for a beer, an appetizer, and to watch a game.
(3)Roy L.
While I'm not a huge fan of these oversized sports bars ( Buffalo Wild Wings and Chubby Balboa comes to mind). This is turning into a go to late afternoon post work, grab a decent beer and some food joint. Never a huge crowd which means seating at the bar is always available. Good if predictable beer list. Pub grub that could be better but... Close to home, lots of TV's and alt pop on the stereo. All and all I can't think of another place I'd rather be!
(3)Kelsey E.
This rating is based solely on the unattentive-ness and incapability of the hostesses to do their jobs. We knew going in on a Sunday to watch an Eagles game would require a wait which we were fine with. We got there and the girls (there were 4 of them) said there were only 3 groups in front of us and gave us a pager. We waited and watched several groups leave, and all of the girls just stood at the hostess stand and acted like it was gossip hour, rarely did they take notice to emptying tables. Then after all 3 parties were seated, we knew we were next when another group was seated instead of us. The girls response was "oh sorry yeah, they were here before you"... we saw them walk in 15 minutes AFTER we did. I'm sorry this is your place of work not a place for you to go and socialize and get paid. They were snotty and we're rude when you went up to ask them a question, it was like I was bothering and interrupting them. You're here to do your job, so do it
(2)Alyssa T.
I've gone here with several different people and no one is ever disappointed with the food!! Everything anyone has ever ordered has been delicious! I love the beer selection, it has the usual staples and seasonal changes. The service could sometimes be better, but it's what you'd expect from typical WC girls.
(4)Jerry D.
Major disapointment. John M nailed it. Ordered the signature Wicked Chicken Cheesesteak. Maybe 3 ounces of bland chicken on a stale roll. No blue cheese as advertised. Poor excuse for pub fair. Timothy's, Duffers and Blarney Stone all blow this place away. Don't waste your time.
(1)M M.
The beer selection is great, no questions there..However we ordered sandwiches, and were asked about chips or fries..We both got asked for the chips. Instead of the decent, homemade one at the other locations we each got a snack bag of Lays! No thanks!!
(2)Bob O.
TVs are everywhere. Great place for a game. Large beer selection and decent prices but the service at the bar was horrible. 3 people working the bar when I got there apparently 2 coming one and 1 leaving. When I first came in the bartender immediately greeted me and offered me the beer special and brought me a beer. Then I obviously read the menu placemat and sat there for over 30 minutes with an empty beer and no one came to take another drink order, food order or even ask how anything was. I waited another 10 minutes and just paid for the one drink and left. They lost an order and a customer.
(2)John C.
I had not been to a PJs in years and went in with average expectations - burgers, chicken, typical beer list. Totally surprised. Excellent pub fare, along with alternatives, solid kids menu and a fantastic beer selection. Given that this location has only been open for a couple weeks, I was very impressed with the service.
